Blue River Grass was founded in Summit County, Colorado after many backyard bluegrass picks near the Blue River in Silverthorne, Colorado.
Blue River Grass is a sound and a feeling created and orchestrated by Benjie West (lead vox, guitar, and mandolin). It's sound is as dynamic and fluid as the waters it receives its name, the Blue River which flows through the majestic mountains of Summit County, Colorado.
Benjie comes from different musical backgrounds and projects, creating a sound that’s perpetual & ever-changing pushing the boundaries of the traditional Appalachian bluegrass by incorporating progressive psych rock and the ryrhms and soul of Rocky Mountain folk music.
